UPDATE:  Karper is doing great in his foster home!  He enjoys attention and just thinks everyone should be playing WITH HIM!!!  This cute little guy needs a new family to call his own!  He is a darling, loveable puppy and really enjoys playing with his toys and with anyone who is willing!  If you are looking for a new family member - please consider Karper! 

Karper ended up at a shelter with his two sisters.  Fortunately DAAWG was able to find space for them and now they're on their way to their new foster home.  Karper is the biggest of the three puppies and is super sweet and loveable!  Cattle Dogs/Blue Heelers are wonderful dogs, but like all the herding breeds, require an owner who is willing provide consistent training.  Much like the more familiar German Shepherd Dog, they are loyal, loving, smart and protective of their home and families.  These pups' mom is a purebred heeler, so while daddy is unknown (the shelter thinks a Beagle), we can make a fairly accurate guess that they will have at least some heeler characteristics so please research the breed before applying for Karper or his sisters.
