Daawg rescued JoJo from a mill in Lancaster that was shut down and all the dogs were taken to a shelter in PA. There were over 100 furries rescued from that horrible place, but sadly DAAWG did not have enough foster homes to rescue more then three. We took in three of the schnauzers and when our volunteer went to Lancaster to pick them up she simply told them we would take three of the least likely to be rescued or adopted. These poor dogs have lived through deep seeded trauma. They are terrified of hands... They tried to become invisible and tremble when you tried to touched them. We have worked through some of this and now they do love to get and give kisses as long as you don't touch them. We can't even imagine what was done to these poor dogs in their years at this mill to have made them so terrified of people/hands... It is taking a long time to work through the demons that these poor souls live with but we will perservere and love these fur kids until they are ready for adoption.
